Why marine electrical is its own problem
Wiring over salt water is not house wiring done outside. Fittings corrode, seals fail, and connections that would last decades in a garage fail in a few seasons above a canal. Worse, a poor installation puts stray current into the water — which quietly eats the metal on your lift and your neighbor's, and in the wrong circumstances is a genuine safety issue around swimmers.
We hold license EC13015118 and do this work ourselves, sealed and specified for the environment it lives in.
What we install
- Deck and walkway lighting for safe footing after dark
- Piling-cap and post lighting
- Underwater and fish lights
- Security and flood lighting, with photocells and timers
- Outlets, junction boxes and shore power, sealed for the environment
- Boat lift controls, remotes and limit switches
- Repair and correction of failing existing installations
Retrofits
Lighting is cheapest to install during a build, when conductors run inside the framing. But most of what we install is retrofit work on existing docks — including docks built by other contractors — and it can be done cleanly.
Questions
Can you fix electrical somebody else installed?
Frequently. Corroding hardware that keeps failing is often an electrical symptom rather than a hardware-quality problem, and correcting the install is what actually stops it.
Are underwater lights bad for fish?
They attract baitfish, and the fish that eat them — which is exactly why people install them. They are a feature of most waterfront properties down here rather than a problem.
